This past weekend my friend and I performed a compression/leak down test. Due to stuttering/misfire cels on cylinder 3 & 4. I live in Colorado and considering the altitude, the results were 125 on all cylinders. Is this good or bad? Also during the compression test we heard two loud pops while turning over the motor on both cylinder 3 & 4. I was thinking maybe bad valve springs. I'm totally at a lost.

125 in Colorado is fine. I am up in Dillon (9500') and get 123-125 all around. As far as the clicking and misfire situation goes I would pull the upper timing cover and make sure the belt hasn't skipped a tooth. You may have skipped one tooth and been lucky enough to not damage any valves.

I figured compression was okay at this altitude. Checked the timing belt and it look good. Timing jumps around at idle. I see as low as 4 degreez. Isn't timing suppose to sit between 7-10 at idle? The Neo show volt fluctuates anywhere from 11.7-13.5, this is with radio on,normal driving and at idle. It is possible misfire could be caused by bad battery/alternator. http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/bol...under-boost-wot.html?highlight=bad+alternator

The timing marks are aligned perfect at TDC. The alternator tested..good. The battery is.. no good. I took off the valve cover to look at the springs and retainers...they look ok. Is there something I should be looking for regarding the springs, retainers, or lifters? Boost leak test this weekend. I really don't know what else:confused:
