Hi all.. I have a 91 talon tsi..
I have white smoke that comes out the exhaust when I first open the throttle, but after that once, it's fine unless the car is sitting at idle...
I know white smoke is water being consumed..

I did a compression test and I got 130, 130, 125, 130..
I know it's kinda of low but service limit is 121 right?..

THe only thing that I can think that is going wrong is the turbo housing might have a little crack in it?...

any suggestions?

Thanks.

Definately not headgasket.. I've done the compression tests and everything is ok.. If it was headgasket, I would lose compression too right?

My only conclusion is that the turbo probably has a little hairline crack in the housing and the water is being consumed in there...

Car runs fine, boosts fine, oil temp and level is good, water temp is good..

Isn't restore for the engine oil?

I tried Bars Leak and put it in the radiator.. did very little.. but not a whole lot.. should I just put another bottle in and see what happens?

"nukefission Headgasket? Do a leakdown test and look/listen at the water neck for bubbles or leaking "

how do u do a leakdow test?

My car does the same. I did my compression test this morning, I got 165 across the board. This is just swapped 2 months ago jdm engine. I am getting smoke during boost and if I rev it at idle.

My compression is perfect. Every part on my car is brand new except the block, head, and intake.

The turbo is brand new, it's a SBR G-50.

I don't know wtf is going on with this smoke.

I'm thinking maybe the valve seals, but i'm not sure.

Anyone else have any insight as to what it could be?

Sounds like coolant to me too. Smell the exhaust. If it smells sweet then it's gotta be coolant. Do a leak down test. Also check your oil dipstick. If it's milky white then there's a good chance the head gasket went and coolant is contaminating the oil.
