Whats up guys, I just got a hold of a Jspec GVR4 RS motor. It came with the yellow top injectors and a B16G turbo.

I did a compression test on it and it came up with 180psi across the board!

The motor is clean as hell on the inside and I was under the assumption that these have the 7:8:1 compression but according to these number it must have closer to the compression ratio of a 2G. 8:5:1 ?

ANy input?

May have some carbon build up around the pistons. But if so it wont fall to much. Thats great consisancy should be a healthy motor.

It's 7.8:1, there are no difference with the internals of the RS engine and a 6 bolt turbo engine.

Well then my 2g motor must be getting old cause it barely puts out 160 across the board.

Hey, if you dont mind me asking, where did you get the engine?? I am thinking about buying a JDM engine, but was hoping to get one with a 16g and big injectors, I know some import shops get the good ones like yours. Thanks

Umm.The pistons are NOT the same. They are stamped "63DTR".Other JDM 6bolt motors have "63DT".This is from personal experience ,not hearsay. But I don't know the C.R.

I have more JDM engines than I do U.S. engines, I have two Galant VR RS Evolution engines, one is in my car. They say 63DT on the pistons and compression is 7.8:1.
