comp cam install removal suggestions

ok i have talked to some people and i have thought about if i install these cams do i need to remove the timing belt completely? or can i zip tie the belt to the cam gears and unbolt the cam gear. sliding the gear of the cam and suspend them in the air is this possible or what. they should slide off right? open to suggestions dont beat me up to bad. i was only thinking about this i have not actually done this yet

You should pull the belt. Even if you did try to zip tie the gears to the belt the belt still can slip on the crank and then it will be out of time. I would do it right the first time so you know that it is going to run when you are done.

I would advise pulling the timing belt as well. This will allow you to inspect the timing components and assure that the belt does not slip out of time. I know some people have done it this way with luck but if you know how to put a timing belt on then it isnt anything more than pulling the accessory pulleys and the timing cover. A bit more work for a lot more assurance.
