I installed Skunk2 coilovers and AGX shocks. The front coilovers are let all the way out and the car sits at stock height? The rear's were raised to about one inch below the top and it sits at stock height. Why would the fronts be so much different?

Are those sleve coilovers intended togo on the agx shocks you have? You might have to knock off the perches. I have read reviews on this site that skunk 2 suck for dsm's. Groundcontrol are better.

Yeah well....I got them for 40 bucks so I wasn't goign to pass 'em up :) What do you mean by knock off the perches? We didn't cut or leave anything off. The bump stop wasn't cut either.

Aside from the obvious ride height problems, I think you should realize that what you have isn't an actual coilover set, but rather a "kit". A true coilover doesn't require you to by shocks seperately. Also, any quality set of coilovers isn't going to cost $40. If I were you, I would dump what you have and spend a little more money for a suspension setup that will actually work and keep you safe. The idea of putting my life on a suspension worth $40 doesn't sit well.

What he means by perches is the thing circled on my picture...

I know for Ground Control coilovers there is a section on the inside of the sleeve that the top of the strut rests on where the arrow is on the picture... But Ground Control makes a set specifically for AGXs...

For yours, because Skunk2 only made a "universal" set for the 95-99 DSMs you need to knock those perches off so that the coilover can sit far enough down on the strut for your car to actually "lower". The perches are "in the way" so to speak. If the coilover is sitting on that perch, it's too high and your car will sit the way it already does now. When you knock off the perches, there should be a section on the inside of the dark gray/black sleeve should rest on top of the strut where the arrow is on the picture...

The second picture is what the AGXs should look like after the perches are off...

The fronts don't have perches, the front end is what is so high.

The set of coilovers are 320 shipped, my buddy had just bought the set and totaled his gst and then came into money issues so he let me hve them for 40 bucks... I didn't actually pay a company fourty dollars.

:edit: yes so the fronts do have perches LOL Will the coilover still set down on it like its supposed to? What do I do? Just take a hammer and whack it a few times? Should I remove the rears also? They actually sat down like they were supposed to.

Yes they will

Yes, that's what most do from what I've been told

Yes, you should do it to the rears also... Your shocks should look like the ones in the second picture when you are done!

And from there you'll just need to readjust all four corners to your desired ride height! :thumb:

man, this sounds like a pain in the ass waiting to happen LOL.
