So I just got my engine back up and ready to run, when it started, sputtered.. and died.

I pulled the codes after I remembered they existed, and recieved the following numbers

(12 - 13 - 25)

Those are all MAF codes, from what I read in similar threads. Now, the wiring harness was a little ate up, but I've made sure all connections are perfect now. The car ran great a month ago before I tore it apart, aside from tired rings... would the MAF just... give out without being used?

Are there any other possible reasons the car would throw these codes?

It will NOT start for more than a few seconds unless I give it about 1/4 throttle, which I assume it's then matching air-volume with fuel.. and the fuel smell can get a little potent.

Just looking for confirmation before I tear into it again.

i would try another maf and if that doesn't work then you have to retrace your wiring. what did you use to rewire? do you have any mods?

Either the MAF wiring is still fubar, the MAF is blown from wiring problems, or you damaged the ECU from the wiring problems. Clear the codes, make sure the MAF is plugged in and if they come back it's time to get the logger and DMM out to see is your getting reasonable values from the MAF sensors.

The wiring was kind of split, so I simply cut and re-connected them correctly with proper housing and whatnot. Had some copper exposed and so on.

I have a spare MAF, so I'll check the connections on the plug first, then hook up the other MAF... if that doesn't work, then I'll test the voltage with a DMM?

And... if nothing else... it's the ECU? =/ I really don't wanna hear that one...

Resolved.

Was a hacked MAF plug harness.
Re-wired \, plugeed in, and fired right up!

;D Car runs and drives like a dream!
