Instead of posting in other forums ill just get my drivetrain questions out of the way and at the end ask a few electronic questions \ hood question .

I recently recieved my car after a long stay in a shop , everything seemed fine at first but it ends up there are a few problems I will need to adress once the mech is back in town. ( Im hoping with knowledge I will have a better idea of what to tell him I think is causing the problems. )

1st issue , 1g , spec 3 clutch.
It lifts fairly close to ground , this is not a huge problem but I am mentioning it hoping it has todo with the following .. Its stiff as hell , Im talking leg shakes stiff and I had this clutch in a previous car and it was stiffer but not like this , had more of a smooth then stiff then was smooth and easy again as pushing down. This is stiff all way the way and it killing my leg , it almost feels like a mechanical clutch would and not hydraulic ( fluid is fine ) .

2nd Issue linkage 5th and reverse , symborski kit installed.
It was diffacult before but now its worse , it is not actually the getting into gear part but the pushing of the shifter cable over to the right which is giving me huge problems . ? ideas . Would the rubber gromit on the very bottom of the shifter cause this? as far as I know the linkage was never removed .

3rd issue I noticed leaking , drips all over more to the rear left of the engine bay but also some to the right and middle . Light green fluid , xfer case spraying all over then dripping down? maybe just fluid run off from someone being sloppy pouring fluid in?

4th Non related to Drivetrain .
Only the brights work ( blinkers etc work also ) the normal beams do not , I replaced the fuse and still nothing . I have no really heard of relays for the headlamps going out .

5th Hood latch
He slammed it and it was fine , i was over heating a bit ( damn fmic ) so i pulled over and popped the hood , went to shut it again and it would not close .. I took it home with the hood popped ( yes i still have my windsheild , horray for traffic , boo at the clutch ) Had gotten home and the mech assembly was pushed forward a good bit I straightened it and tried to adjust the rubber gromits .. it now latches to the first hook ( looking at the engine would be the hook on the right , so it holds it down but is not exactly latched . ) to fully close if tried slamming dancing etc on the hood .. The spring looks fine and so does the assembly.

Sorry for the couple of offtopics i hope you will understand , I will get a couple pictures of the latch in a second. This is easily solved though with hood pins and it being cracked helps me with cooling. but it also hinders me from going over 35 mph without a windshield in my face making me cry... alot.

:beatentodeath:

here are the oil stains , board is placed how you see it a little bit behind the slave cyl on the bottom of the tranny.

Here is the latch before it was angled towards me quite a bit.

As for the clutch, I DO NOT KNOW, did you bleed it, I have an ACT 2900 and it is hard as hell to push.

As for 5th and reverse, you need to adjust the side to side adjustment on your shifter cable at the shifter.

If you are leaking green fluid, that can only be coolant, check all your hoses.

As for the headlights, they have 2 seperate filaments inside each light, one for lows and one for highs, of course you use your lows more so it is likely that the lows have burned out.

Hope any of this helps......

Do you have a SS clutch line? I have a Spec Stage 3 and it's pretty light pressure wise. It sounds like you need to bleed the system again and adjust the pedal, which can make it release higher up light you want. Could also help with getting the car into gear as the clutch may not be disengaging enough. Process is pretty simple, but you've gotta get upside down under the dash which isn't fun. As for the leaks, just clean everything really well and wait for it to do it again. Check all of your reservoirs, you should be able to find it. Green is generally coolant...T-case fluid is darker, or reddish. Electrical stuff is not my thing, but check the bulbs, they're fairly cheap, and replace the fuse with a different one even if it looks good to make sure that it isn't that. Not sure about the hood latch either, but I would suggest setting the hood down easy and then pushing the hood down rather than just dropping it, for future reference.

I took it to a shop to get some things sorted out , the green was an oil not any kind of coolant .. Its tranny fluid I just do not know where it is leaking happened even after i cleaned it again .

As for the clutch im going to try bleeding the system again when i get it back , its stiff but like you said it isnt Super stiff. kind of worries me a bit.

as for 5th and reverse it was the rubber gromit at the bottom of the main shifter shaft .. was old and bloated i just removed it and 5th / R are easy to get into .. only shifting problems I have is sometimes i grind big time trying to get into second .. :( damn synchros.

ill let you guys know whathappens with the other stuff id really like to fix the clutch so its not as stiff =/

If you don't have a SS clutch line, get one. They're only about $20 and they are said to reduce pedal pressure a lot. I like mine.

im fat and lazy toss me the link for it heh .

( have to order new brake lines anyway )
