okay. i had problems with my new act 2600 clutch kit. everything new. installation is great. the first time i had it in the only problem i have is that it doesn't go in gear when car is on but can go when off.

bled, bled and bled. new slave cylinder. bled the hydrolics and the slave rod also. nothing. i even did clutch adjustment.

so then i decided to take the tranny out. everything look fine. fork, TOB and ring and pivot ball doesn't have anything wrong. i also took the pressure plate and disc out. i also took the fly wheel out too to get it resurface. step to .610.

so then i added two regular washer (not lock washer) on the pivot ball. install the flywheel to 90 ft lbs. install the disc with align tool then add the pressure plate on and torque is at around 15-18 lbs. fingers on pp are even and flaten out while torquing the pp.

put tranny and everything back in and fluid. note that the fork is a little off center. maybe b/c of the two washer?

starts up fine but every time i press the clutch in half way, there's vibration where the clutch is and sounds like shaking and rubbing the disc. it still would let me go in gear too. i'm not sure.

are the fingers to close to the disc with the two washer on the pivot ball. is the slave pushing out to much. the fork is not center before i install the slave. it was more to the diver side.

sorry about the long post.

anyone can help me please. i'm stuck on this forever now.

note: after the two washer went in, seems like the

Might sound dumb... but your absolutely sure the clutch disk isnt on backwords?

Usually the cause of your problem is air in the clutch line or bad master cylinder/Slave cylinder...
But you say you replaced those and bled bled bled...

disc is right position. should i undo the clutch adjustments. would that make the rod push to much into the pp. i push the clutch pedal in half way and seems like it want to do something. but it sounded like shaking and rubbing.

Well, it seems for your description that the problems started when you installed the Washers behind the pivot ball. This may be causing your clutch fork to sit too far forward and therefore the TOB would move too far inward on the Pressure plate causing the vibration and noises. I would guess that you need to remove at least 1 of the washers (Maybe both) and re-visit the actual original problem…. You mentioned that you replaced the clutch Master Cylinder, did you replace the Slave Cylinder also? Also, how far off is the clutch fork sitting form the middle of the opening? Sitting toward the drivers side or the passengers side? This might help you understand if the fork is positioned correctly and if you really need the washers. Here is a link that might help with the adjustment if you have not see this already: (all the way at the bottom of the page)

Sounds like a TO bearing. Had the same problem with mine serveral months ago. I felt the vibration only when pushing the clutch in and I can hear it grinding and even saw and smelt smoke coming from the tranny. The guy that had the car before me must not have lubed the input shaft and TO bearing properly causing it to eventually sieze up. It's always recommended to use an OEM TO bearing instead of the one ACT supplies. I've always used the ones that came with the ACT kit and has been fine so far. Hope this helps.

Look no further! I have the solution...I feel bad that you took the tranny off again...i know how bad that sux when you have to do that right after you have put it on. I did the same when I swapped out my clutch and had the same exact problem. All you need to do is adjust the clutch pedal so that it has a longer range and then it will engage...it is shaking because it is partially engagine but not enough to put it in gear. There is a bolt behind the clutch pedal that you use to adjust it. Just make that rod a little longer and you should be good as gold! :thumb:

yeah i'll try to undo the washers on the pivot ball and remove both the washer the week.

i was thinking about undoing the clutch adjustment also. i adjusted it before i took the tranny off.

thanks for the reply. i'll keep you guys posted asap.
