ok, I have the stock clutch, it was in it when I bought it.
I have recently upgraded to a TDO6H 18g-8cm^2, 3" turbo back and DSMlink, I was running 15psi, and my clutch started slipping almost everytime I went to shift, I assume it was the clutch??
anyways, I have done the turbo swaps, and FMIC, etc... but have never done much about the clutch.
PS, I turned the boost down to like 9psi (peak) for now.
My question is what clutch would be best, and a link to the cheapest most reliable place.

I was thinking like an ACT 2100lb/4 puck clutch, with a Fidanza flywheel, would this be good for my setup generally, I am looking to be running 19~20psi.
thanks you guys....
I see the track maybe once a month- but drive hard on the street ( no launching)

Well when it comes to clutches you have quite a few options. I went for the SBR 3500 as it is "supposed" to hold better then then ACT2600 and have less pedal pressure then the ACT2100. I dont think you can go wrong if you go with any known aftermarket brand clutch. Best advice I could give you is to read what people have posted about all the clutches your interested in and make your own decision. There are some really good threads on both the ACT's and the SBR clutches. I know you can find infor on more but those seem to be the two most popular choices to me. I havent had a chance to feel my SBR so I cant give you a personal experience opinion but I can tell you it's the clutch that I chose and for more reasons then one. :thumb:

Hope that helps.

FYI ... the clutch goes for about 350 brand new, which isnt bad considering its specs.

If the car is going to see a lot of street time, then I personally would stay away from the "puck" disk. They tend to be less forgiving in stop-n-go traffic.

For example: In stead of a 2100/4 puck, go with a 2600/full face. And really a 2100 is kind of a waste on AWD with just a few basic mods let alone anything more.

Same with the aluminum flywheel....light is good, but sometimes you can go too light. Coupled with a "puck" disk....and traffic will definitely suck.

ACT makes a nice "streetlite" flywheel, about 4LBS heavier than the Fidanza, but it would be a little more "streetable".

Of course you can get used to anything.

We just removed a SBR 3500 clutch disk this morning, out of a stock 91 Talon TSi. Clutch had 10,000 miles on it, clutch disk went into the trash barrel. This is another of the early Comp Clutch disasters. Spring falling out, and center hub had the spline teeth almost stripped out. Took the tranny out when the Mitsi TOB failed. It came apart when the tabs broke off. Anyway replaced the disk with a ACT street disk part# 3000303. This is a very nice looking disk. I have a ACT 2600 in my 92 TAlon TSI. It has been a great clutch and PP setup, over 50,000 miles on it. Will put the 3000303 in mine when disk need replaced.
