I was pulling out of parking spot today, and when going into second, my clutch stayed on the floor. I had to reach down and pull it up. Then it did it once more. After that I was able to drive it home without any problems. I was thinking maybe a bad slave cylinder.

I went from an OEM clutch to a 2100 about 5k ago as well.

EDIT: Problem fixed, fluid leak. Got SS clutch line and it's all better!

thats what happened to me as well. I change my clutch then shorty after my clutch got stuck on the floor. I change the slave & master cylinder, then it never happen again.

Your hydraulic system is leaking or your master cylinder is bad.

I just did a full rebuild installed it and could not get the clutch system bled. We replaced the master and got good pressure however. I still can not get the damn clutch to disengage. I have an extended slave rod to see if it was in need of a shim at the pivot ball (which I will have to take the trans out for) However, still will not disengage. I have no leaks, and can't imagine what would cause this. I like engines but the transmission and clutch end really aren't fun things to work on for me...... I just end up REAL frustrated. :banghead:

...please don't be crank walk... please don't be crank walk....

I figured I'd be the first one to mention this since it always comes up whenever a clutch pedal hits the floor and doesn't return. Take a look and let us know so I can at least be at peace with not hearing another crank walk issue.

Other than that, the clutch system in these cars are simple. Bleed the full system (if it hasn't been done recently) and that should fix your issue. If not, start trouble shooting the master and slave cylinders. Outside of a clutch fork breaking or crankwalk, you shouldn't have to do any major overhaul.

Good luck and keep us posted

I had the same problem, it was a popped out clutch spring. Killed my clutch, pressure plate, and flywheel all at the same time. It was a joyful time!

If you don't see fluid leaking anywhere and don't notice fluid loss after pumping several times I highly doubt either the clutch or master are bad. I'd say give it 100 or so pumps and put something to mark the current level and see if it drops, if it does you probably have a leak and if not you most likely should drop the trans because something is wrong with the clutch.

Just so you're brought up to speed, it's premature thrust bearing failure (crank moves in and out of the block beyond manufacturer's specifications/tolerance).
The results can be as follows:
-Ruined crankshaft
-Ruined Rods
-Ruined Block
-Tears

Most common on pre '99 7 bolt blocks. I have yet to experience it but I've only ripped into 3 7 bolt blocks my whole life ('97, '99 and '96).
