Clutch Opinions

I know theres threads on clutches all over the place but I need a hand narrowing it down.

I'm trying to choose from the following:
Act 2600
Spec Stage 2
Spec Stage 2+
Spec Stage 3
Spec Stage 3+

My mods are minor, stock turbo, stock exhaust. But I'm AWD.
My future plans include EVOIII 16g, 550's, SAFC, and a turbo-back exhaust.

The ACT 2600 you either love it or hate it, its ruined many a bellhousing and had a stiff pedal - but many are successful with it.

This is where it gets tricky, the Spec clutches. So many choices, all seem good. I want good grabbing ability since I'm AWD but also good streetability which makes me think Stage 3+ since it isn't a puck design but holds on tight (better for daily driving) but then what about the stage 2 and 2+ I'm sure they'd be fine too.

Just looking for some input and opinions. Thank you!

I have a spec stage III in my room right now and it is a puck clutch to clear things up. it has dual springs and from what i read its very streetable and slipable for that matter. i went with it because 1. its cheaper 2. i wanted to try something new and 3. i didnt hear any bad remarks from it. i got it for 307 shipped from www.titanmotorsport.com. so i chose spec stage III.

really any one of these clutches you listed would do well for you. It comes down to your needs really. Some people find the Spec Stage 3 to be a bit to grabby, it's one of those instant grabbers. The stage 2 is very nice but can glaze if slipped too much. The Stage 2+ plus is an amazing cluth. It gives you the same streetability and ease of the stage 2 but with longer lasting material and more grabbing power. The Stage 3+ is simply put, one of my favorite clutches ever. It gives you the grabbing power of the stage 3 but with its full face design you can slip it a whole lot more and it will take more abuse.

I say stage 2+ or stage 3+ if you want something that will take a beating.

I have the spec stage 2 and its great. Its grabs great it takes some time to get used to but not to bad for street. You don't want to get a puck disc clutch for a daliy driver they are alittle too grabby for street.

I have had good success with the ACT 2600 on both my old DSM! Follow their directions and it will be perfect. Or have a good shop install it correctly.

how is the throw-out bearing with the spec clutches? anyone had any experience with them?

unless we are specifically asked other wise by a customer we use the Spec TOB on all the installs we do in house. including our own cars. (DSM, MR-2, 240sx, Drift Car SR20 240sx)

never an issue.
