the 29th is my birthday and xmas is pretty close so i convinced my parents to buy me a new clutch as a joint gift.

when it comes to this im completely useless. i've done some research, i've talked to my brother but so far nothings really been decided, maybe you guys can help me.

in my STi i have a competition stage 2 full face clutch. i like it, grips nice, doesn't slip, ect, it's stock though so that might be why.

my DSM is getting built over the winter when i have off of school so i need something that can handle about 300-350whp.

couple things

- whats the difference between sprung and unsprung clutches?
- i head that puck clutches aren't very good, any info on that?

i dont take the car to the track but maybe once or twice a year, i do pulls on the street and whatnot (not racing, that's just stupid) just to toy around or on the highway but i want the clutch to be able to handle the power.

any suggestions or info from you guys would be great.

I don't to much about clutches but installed a act 6 puck clutch on my friends talon with 480whp and havent had a problem for the past 3+years. Just thought I would throw in my .02 cents.:hellyeah:

My brother has a puck clutch with a light weight flywheel. It allows the car to rev quicker while staying engaged, however, due to less rotational mass the inertia is much less then stock so the rpms drop a lot more when trying to engage the clutch normally, like daily driving. Also, I believe that the sprung and unsprung clutches are different by having damping springs, allowing easier engagement (for the sprung clutches).

This is true. im going to be running an Act 6 puck sprung disc with an Act 2600 pressure plate myself. from my research act seems to be one of the more commonly tried and true single clutch setups

If your only looking to make 300-350whp then the ACT 2100 (street disc) should do the trick!
