CLUTCH install, need RESURFACE?

since im replacing the tranny ill do the clutch too. i plan on an exedy organic or oem spec equiv. do i NEED to have the flywheel resurfaced? also can the presure plate be reused? i think ill just get the kit tho off ebay.

You definitely need to get the flywheel resurfaced. I wouldn't waste my money on the oem equivilant. I was getting prices on them here, and they wanted about $240 or so for one. I just went with the ACT 2100 for about $100 more and am very happy with it. If I were you, I would either grab that or a 2600, but then again, I don't know what kind of prices you can get for clutches.

yes , you need to resurf the f/w just like ya would need to turn or replace brake rotors.
I wouldnt try to skimp on re-using the pressure plate if your going to do it --- DO IT

so the flywheel must be resurfaced? why does it need to? if the surface is still smooth and i replace with stock couldnt i just do that? yea... explain that one to my dad... he said dont even replace the clutch. but i got the tranny off so what the hell after i look at the clutch disk ill know. how many miles out of a stock disk?

I was told average Clutch life was only 50 - 60K on the AWD's - Getting ready to do this on the 91 - I'm resurfacing Pressure plate (new one is $220 fm Mitsu) Bumper to Bumper showed Remanufactureds at $35! - but non in Stock - Replacing Clutch, Pressure Plate, Throwout Bearing with Aftermarket & hell I ordered a Throwout Fork fm Mitsu - $55 - I'll be damned if I'll do it twice...
