Clutch going out???

What are some common signs of a clutch that is worn and going out? My car has 126+ and its on the original clutch. So right there is a sign but what other symtomes should i be experiencing? I think its goingoout because it likes to make a chattering noice when i either downshift or let off the gas. thanks in advance

Umm one test i have heard of is in third or second gear, get the rpm's to about 4,000. let go of the gas and let it start to lug down. then smash the peddle. if the rpms fly up, and then go back down, the clutch is slipping. try it
