haha... i've been away for a while and never read this post. i just came back from the phil. and it is,in fact, a whole lot different from the phil. that most of you guys remember. i havent seen any DSM's while i was there but i've seen a couple of Club Mitsu-Philippines member rides. i've been going back almost twice a year and it always amazes me how things change each time. can't wait to go back again.

dustintoy, hehehe, I'm actually a founding member of Club Mitsu, but haven't been attending the meetings since last year, delinquent member kasi eh. I also suppose because I'm the only eclipse there so I can talk to most of the members about setups except for the VR4 people and Evo people which are pretty rare.

So I decided to form my own club

Man! Lots of Fillipinos! Who'd have though? I am myself a first generation Fillipino American. Its surprising to see DSM's down there. I have some black power mirrors I'd be willing to trade. You've got a PM.

i still go to the club mitsu boards and post once in a while. pretty much, most of the people with 4G63-equipped rides know their stuff and sometimes, i get to learn some things from them too. i remember i've seen some dsm's in greenhills like 5 years ago but not lately.

sids - i will be visiting manila by mid-october. after 9 years here in the states sa wakas makakuwi na rin ako.... if you guys meet at Fort Bonifacio, i might live close at your hang out place.

Jeepneys are cool , although i've never rode in one.

Looking forward to visit the Philippines this upcoming xmas....would definately like to meet up w/ the DSM Club Philippines.

As for side mirrors, i'd be willing to make a trade. Also, for your 97-99 replica stock bumpers that fit 95-96 headlights...how much do they go for over there? made of fiberglass or polyurethane? I'll send you a PM to talk further regarding this.

passenger jeepneys are cool. when i was in high school, that's my ride n do sabit. especially, to those patok jeepneys... that's my good all days back home.

oosoosloo, sure thing pre, I recommend you saty at discovery suits, very good rooms and cheap price too, don;t forget to buy a Globe Cellualr phone SIM card when you get here so that we cansend SMS or "text" to keep in touch. I live near discovery suits and I can give yo u lift when we meet up with the club.


RedTsi, we have a memeber whle be going to california sometime spetmeber, i believe we wil make a stopover at road race, we have member with a red eclipse looking for one, I'll get more details when we meet up next week.

As for the bumper its hand laid fiberglass, gu here is selling it $225, deyes also wants one, maybe you two can coordinate so we can shave of a bit on the shipping costs.

ok dunno if this is true or not..but are Eclipses expensive over there? I mean are they rare and like if you see an eclipse on the road is it like " LOOK AN ECLIPSE" and everyone stares? Like here in USA..Supras are like that.. LOOK AT THAT NICE SUPRA!!! DROOL!!!!!..and like skylines cost like $40,000 or so here..but in other countries you can get them for like $10,000.. here i'ts like $5,000-$15,000 for an eclipse..but how much would it cost over there? Sorry, just curious about this stuff.

sids - tol, i want to know what kind of tail lights you have in your eclipse's stock. are those the one with amber lights (jdm) or same here in the states, which is the all red tail lights.

EclipzGST, yep people go "Holy F&^% its an ECLIPSE!" over here, its pretty much an exotic already, at par with the Evos. We have a total of ONE R34 skyline, ONE r33 and ONE r32, how's that for rare, what can I say, I'm in a third world country

When the Eclipse first came out it was on the high side with regards to pricing P900,000 (P50 = $1) for brand new one as compared to P650,000 for say, a civic. But times have changed now, new cars, top of the line compact sedans like Civic VTi (1.6 SOHC vtec engine), Corolla Altis (1.8 VVT, not VVTLi) are almost P900,000 already. and here's another funny thing, the resale value of the Eclipse has stood at P850,000 for the past 4 years, making it a tempting alternative to the brand new offerings. heck Camrys and Accords cost more than a used DSM.

Oososloo, yep everyone here has the JDM amber lights, like I said before, chopsuey version, JDM engine, US interior and some european parts. are we now trading for lights now as well as mirrors
