Closing the EGR passage with cement

Why not? Do you have an actual reason, ie, actually done it and it went bad or are you just adding an opinion on something you know nothing about?
I did steam plants on ships. Furnace cement, or refractory mortar, is not something you want to subject to engine vibration. No manner of masonry will be happy in a heat-flexing aluminum casting. That's why it's not marketed as an engine sealant.
There's no data there, just one sentence. Other than that, if you read the article, it says that it reduces temperature by taking up space that could otherwise hold air/fuel therefore making less power. I think I'll take the extra power and be happy that they don't test for emissions where I live.
As soon as you start making power, the EGR is closed-off. It only works while the engine's in a low-power state. The uneven cylinder heating you're trying to prevent would not be measurable, if present.

i doubt the temp variations would even be niticable, either from a permonace or a detonation standpoint, iv never heard pr a single cylinder going out because pof knock due to a blockoff plate, and iv worked on aot dsm.

if theres even a slight doubt, i woulddnt try it when making a blockoff plate os so easy if you have a piece of metal and a plasma cutter or somthing. my buddy wanted one on his 1g like on mine, and the guys who rent half of his tow yard made a plate out of scrap metal in about 5 min that bolted right up. it took considerably longer to pull the egr off and bolt it on then it took to make.
