Clocking B16g for FMIC piping

I don't waht a j bend on my FMIC setup, I was wonderign if anyone has clocked their turbos to make it meet the hot pipe and how it worked out.

On top of the actuator you would have to modify the comp cover abit. Its held on by a larger snap ring, there is a small half circle notch cut out of it that lines up with a dowl pin. You would have to remove this (maybe drill it flush?) to rotate the cover.

Then whel you do get it facing the right way it still doesnt exit straight down, it fires off to the passenger side so you would have to rig up some strange pipeing. I don't think it would be worth all the hassle. Just get the dejon tool jpipe which exits in a down firing 20g location and your set.

I really feel it's totally worthwhile re-clocking that turbo. I did my evo III just as posted. Tossed the indexing pin, threw together a cheap and easy little bracket and it's held up fine for over a year now. As a side benefit I was able to tension my gate arm slightly and improve my spool up.

Your going to delete a nearly 180d bend and probably 18 inches of pipe. De shrouds a section of rad to boot, and let me re-install my A/C fan, which *really* helped with temperatures with the A/C on.

Unfortunately it's mounted up under a rather large custom heatshield covering everything, and the space between the rad fans and turbo is so small a picture would be totally useless anyhow.

It looks exactly as it sounds though. I just bent the stock wastegate bracket, carved off what I didn't need, drilled a new set of holes, and mounted it up to the boss on the compressor outlet. After that, a chunk of pipe with a few wiggles in it, and a 180 mandrel bend and it routes right to the front mount beautifully.

I'd do it again in a heart beat.
