clicking/knocking sound from drivetrain

Hello, my friend 90laserdsm and I are having a hard time finding a clicking/knocking noise comming somewhere in the clutch/pressureplate/TOB area. The story is it all started when he had this engine in his 90 laser now since then he put that engine in a 93 talon. We first thought the engine had excessive crank play so we swapped an extra block we had and it still made the same noise. Then we tried swapping trannys... still made the same noise, we replaced the TOB no go. The Clutch fork and pivot ball were OEM new when he put the engine in the laser. When you push the clutch in the noise does go away. The only thing that I am thinking now is he had an extended slave rod in the laser could that have bent the clutch fork enough to make it rattle when the clutch is not engaged? can possibly upload a video tonight or sunday. Any help or experience would be a help!

I had a Toyota truck make a simaler noise turned out to be the throw out bearing.. also by chance have u checked the axel on the trans side? they are known for making noises when going bad.another possibility would be the pilot bearing is worn.. not sure just making suggestions. good luck guys

Maybe a bolt on the Fly wheel is loose?

My transmission was making that same noise.. I got it replaced with a used one and it's great now!!

Have you checked the clutch disc? How do the springs in the disc look? They can rattle around quiet a bit if they get worn.
