Cleaning the MAS? Anyway to safely do it?

I bought a MAS second hand, and I want to clean the actual MAS itself up, is it safe to spray like carb cleaner across the honeycombs and inside and whatnot as long as I let it dry out a couple days? What do you guys use to clean this stuff?

why not just remove the honey combs to clean them - then put them back in ?
( ya can do it on a 2g mass anyways... not sure if 1g's can be removed and reinstalled )

I've done it lots with both 2g mafs and 1g mafs.

on the 2g maf thre is a little hole on either the roof or the floor of the maf(been a while) so tape that over.

On the 1g maf, don't go nuts in the top portion, its got some sort of fiber board walls in it, and I'm not sure how they would appreciate being soaked.

Use brake cleans, its less nasty, flashes off faster and is less harsh on your lungs too.

Get a toothbrush for the stubborn crud. but be careful with the honeycombs they are soft and need to be straight for proper air flow.
