Well i have been cleaning and painting parts for weaks now trying to get my car ready fo the JDM swap that is going to go down in a week or too. I have cleaned everything that i can thing of and painted most of them with high temp paint to give them that "new" look :D

But one part has me stumped on how to clean it...the power steering pump  My first idea was brake/intake cleaner and a rag but i am not sure about the seals? I know on some of them u can't use that stuff because it will cause them to swell up and leak everywhere over time. Can i use that stuff on it? Or should i just do my best with a rag and hot water?

maybe reatach the lines that way you dont have to worry about any cleaning agents getting in there, I didnt take mine off the car during my rebuild I just hosed it off while it was still attached to the car, it was also one of the only things I didnt paint because of it still being in the car.

I cleaned mine with mineral spirits. Its a part washer solvent but i bought it in a 5gal bucket to do misc cleaning for my carbs, bolts, pulleys and other small enough parts i could fit that needed cleaning. Its kinda expensive to get but I have had mine for bout two years and its still cleaning stuff. Much cheaper then most parts washers.

What's with this "JDM" swap??? It's the same damn motor as your old one. Just has slightly different cam profile, different intake manifold, different injectors and a different turbo depending on what vehicle it came out of. Everything else is the same and you know why, the DSM is a DOMESTIC built car. All European models were exported from the states.

I had a "JDM" motor and it came out of a mini van. Damn thing crank walked a week after the install.

There is one European model that has a NT 4g63 in a 2g body however instead of the 420A.
