For too many reasons to go in to (unless you really want to know) my 1g TSI has a Cyclone intake manifold. I rigged up a vacuum system to get the butterflies to open and close, but lately it's stopped working, and so I've lost considerable ammounts of power.
I'm tired of it, and I have the stock intake manifold just liein' around. So, this weekend or next, I plan on swapping the stock one back in and tossing or selling the Cyclone.
Soooooo, I got the old manifold out from under the tarp (no garage, I am sad) and looked around inside. It's absolutely caked in black grime. What would you suggest I use (and how) to clean it out? I can't really get inside those runners, and I'd like to clean those out too. Any sprays or anysuch?
Also, anyone done this swap (basically any intake manifold with the engine in the car)? How long'n hard do you think it'll be? I'll most likely be doing it by myself.
