is it just me ( vid is kinda hard for me to see) but are you not boosing at all until 5000 rpms??
check the wastegate arm, maybe its opening all the time, check for massive exhaust leaks, when both these problems affected my car, I wasnt spooling full 15psi until 4100 in 3rd on a 14b it was disgusting, fixed both problems, and spool by 2500 now.

that didn't seem too terrible, are you venting w/o proper fuel control. if so the momentary rich condition between shifts will slow down the turbo alot and it will have alot farther to go to get back to boost again. if vented correctly the turbo will stay spooled more than if not.

thanks for the replys, and yes, I am venting without the proper fuel controls. I have an SAFC, 550cc's, and walbro 255 hooked up. This is NOT Tuned correctly, I am going to make plans to have a dyno tune performed, but was thinking maybe I should just invest in a logger so I can see my timing at all times. I am not going to invest in DSMLink, too expensive for me :( . Something that MAY or may not play an effect on my boost lag is my MAS. I took out all honeycombs and adjusted the screw on the bottom about a year ago. This might pull timing / effect the boost lag. I am definately going to invest in a used MAS from dsmtrader.

Why not just recirculate yur BOV.

Lose the bov noise by recirculating it back into the intake. If you want to vent you need a maft or other form of fuel control. Your problem is right in front of you and the fix is simple.

why not just recirculate your BOV?

In third it looked like boost came on fine, but on the 4th gear shift, it hesitated pretty bad. A cracked manifold, blown out exhaust manifold gasket, blown out turbo-to-manifold gasket, cracked o2 sensor housing, leaking DP to o2 sensor gasket, lack of a o2 sensor in o2 sensor housing.....all of those are things I could see affecting boost building characteristics.

I'd recirculate and try that first.

when i re-circluated my hks my situation improved greatly, then i went to a maft setup and it seemed to improve a little more even.

either way get the situation setup correctly and i would bet that you'll see a large improvement.

awesome. I have a recirc kit at home waiting to be put in. When I removed my HKS SSBOV shell, there is a triangle shaped metal peice at the end, and I cannot get this peice to budge (im trying to remove it, to put the new tip in), did you have this problem? will beating it with a hammer loosen it? thanks for the posts guys.
