Hey everyone. Im having some problems with my 90 Talon TSI AWD. The problem is that I have a check engine light on, which comes on a few minutes after the car is on. I also noticed that the idle/air control is up then down a little bit. sort of a leak some where... Dont know why I dont get any codes read up on it if its the idle/air sensor..

take the cel bulb out, it fixes it every time LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

WRONG!

Have the light reset or disconnect the battery. If it comes back then go to autozone or where ever and get it scanned. CEL lights just done appear or no reason. If i were you it would be a good investment to buy a cheap OBD2 scanner....sometimes you cant trust other people and their equipment they use.

I dont know about Autozone, but Advanced Auto Parts will definitely run a check on it and let you know what the code is and what the problem is.

Yeah autozone wont check older 1gen talons go figure right? And check this out i was just on my drive out and gave it a good go(not a smart idea) with a check engine light and it was struggling for power, Like i did not want to gain speed... 1. Procedure was to disconnect the battery, i did that but i came back and when the car is at idle, it pretty much idles like shit and dies, but thats sometimes...

im sure you probobly already read the vfaq but here is a link ECU Code Checking I hope that helps, found another really good diagnosis page but cant remember what site. got the codes off of it though instead of adding all the numbers up here is the codes

I dont know if this will help you or not, but I'm having the same issue.

My idle turned to complete crap for a few days, although I wasn't getting a check engine light. I tested my ISC with an ohmmeter, all the coils were intact.

After a couple days of the bad idle, my car just died altogether and wouldn't restart.

Now I have a CEL on all the time, but I cannot get ANY CODES. Does your ECU at least give you the single beep every few seconds (the 'heartbeat') to signal that it is running? Mine doesn't.

So after much trial and error, I now have a new ECU on the way. Mine seems totally dead. The CEL is on, but I get no codes, the boost gauge doesn't move to zero like it should with the key on.

I hope you have a different problem, but that is my story.
