Some reason my web at work is acting up and can't acces many sites. My friend has my car today he got a check engine light and it is p0170 and p1400? Let me know if anyone can get back to me the only thing I can think of is my wires are probably bad.

I was just looking at that page in my Haynes manual today.

P0107- "Manifold Absolute Pressure (MAP) sensor voltage too high"

P0140- "Downstream heated O2 sensor- neither too rich nor lean condition detected."

Idk what all that will do to your car but hopefully this helped.

Thanks but the first code is 170 not 107.:p Maybe you can check that one I hate to not "search" but I cannot and don't want him driving my car if it could be a issue is why im askin.

P1400 (not P0140) code description is Manifold Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit. looks like you have a map sensor or wiring problem associated with it.

And P0170 is described as fuel trim malfunction bank 1.

Hmm thanks you for the posts...I am going to blame it on the safc and need to check my tune is the only thing I can think of causing these issues.

I'm not too sure if anyone can help me out with this one, but here goes. I did an engine swap from a 1990 tsi into a n/t 1994. I used the 1994 n/t wiring harness and just swapped engine computers. It seems to be running perfectly, except for the fact that i get an engine code showing up. Before I did the engine swap there was no check engine light coming on. I have taken it in to a good mechanic I know and gotten him to run the code for me, but he couldn't read it for some reason. I've gone to several other reputable mechanics and they found the same problem. Firstly, if my car is running fine, is this engine code something i should run down? Secondly, if i should run it down, would you think it would be primarily a weird wiring thing that the ecu is compensating for on its own, or a legitimate problem?

Do you have a 6 bolt swap? That would mean your MAP sensor probably isn't even hooked up. If not, then this will help searchers in the future with the problem.

Yes, it's a 6-bolt swap. is it ok just to leave it unplugged? will it cause the ecu to go into what i've heard is a "limp" mode?
