Hi people, im having a similar problem on my 95 gsx,
So sometimes(not every day) when i drive the car the check engine light comes and as soon as i take of my foot from the gas pedal the check engine light go.

There is a hole on the cat caused by rust and i can hear the gas escape from it, can that hole be the problem?
I tryed to scan the code but it find no code.
I replaced the sprak plugs and pcv valve but the problem is still here.
When the check engine light comes i can feel a big loss of power if i press the pedal harder.
Pls help.

Misfire? Do you tune the car with Link? Check to see if its set to flash when it detects knock. I've heard of people doing that.

No i dont think so cause its not flashing, the light stay on if i keep my foot on the gas pedal, as soon as i take off my foot from the gas pedal it turns off and when i gas again it comes again for bout 30-60 sec and it goes and after that i can drive the car normaly

Hmmm. Is there any way you can have the code checked? Does it do it while in neutral, or only when driving?

Can it be caused by the stock catalytic converter? Cause it has a huge hole on it and can make the o2 sensor ready wrong?

It's possible. I'd would get it patched up or replaced soon either way.

Where can i find a stock one cheap? Here in europe there is no turbo dsms. Only 2g 4g63 N/A.
Is the cat the same?
The 2g NT (non turbo) motor isn't a 4g63 it's a 420a. So no, that wouldn't fit because the motor sits in the vat differently. However, it is just a cat and I'm sure if you get one, an exhaust shop could probably cut and weld it into your exhaust.

Do you have to do emmissions testing where you are? If not, just he a straight downpipe and get rid of the cat all together.

Yes bro go search on google for european eclipse 4g63 you will find it. 4g63 N/A 140hp.
And here its not legal the remove the cat, i can get a 2000$ ticket for removing it.
I know it sucks

That's kind of cool! I didn't know that. Depending on what emissions testing you have, you could do a stealth delete. It's big in the diesel truck world where you basically hollow out the cat and throw it back on and turn the check engine light off
