I'm a newbie and would appreciate anyone's help. How do you install a cold air intake on a 1G N/T 1.8 Laser? The link on vfaq.com is broken. I just disconnected the MAF sensor plug, intake hose, and valve cover hose and then put the cold air intake and new valve cover hose on. Now my check engine light is on. But it runs great.

Thank you,
Ross

I just unplugged the MAF sensor and intake tube and then put on a short-ram and left the MAF sensor unplugged. As soon as I plug it in, the car dies.

did you buy the correct Intake? The car will pull a code (check engine light) if you don't have the MAF hooked up. That has to be hooked up for your car to run correctly. From what i've heard, for some reason 1gs will still run without it plugged in or even connected, but it will not run great. Make sure the MAF is in the proper location after the filter and before the intake pipe. You may have damaged the MAF when you removed it. Pics would help.
