Cheap Fuel Pressure Regulators

I am looking for input from people who have purchased "universal" FPRs or direct bolt on regulators.

I am looking for an inexpensive direct bolt to a 2g with gauge...

What do you consider inexpensive? I think the ImportEvolution Aeromotive kit is a damn good deal. Quality part with the hardware to install. If $200 is too much, save until you have the cash. This is not an area you want to go cheap on or buy some no name ebay knock-off.

As for direct bolt on replacement, you've got the FTS afpr which I've heard mixed reviews about, more good than bad though. However, I'm one that would give it a bad review. I had one which never worked correctly for me. I tried it on two cars. Fuel pressure would not increase with boost (yes, it was installed correctly.... kinda hard to screw that up). I saw no reason for it not to work though after taking it apart and inspecting it. Meh... who knows.

Buschur has a bolt on afpr which is a modified SX regulator but you'll need a 1G rail.

My recommendation goes with the ImportEvolution Aeromotive kit for ease, quality, and price. I've had experience with that as well and was very happy with the results.

I just got an AFPR that is made by Mallory Ignition. It's under the Mr. Gasket group of parts (Mallory, Accel, etc), so I bet that it's a good piece. Looks solid, feels pretty solid. Has an AN -8 inlet and bypass (return), along with three 3/8" NPT ports. Boost reference and a 1/8" gauge port.

It was $78 shipped from eBay, part number 4305M. Looks to be a little bigger than the Aeromotive units, but it should work well and has a name brand on it.

For something as important as fuel (Performance-wise and safety-wise), I wouldn't trust an Ebay knockoff FPR. Just my opinion though..You can get a FPR with stainless steel install kit & gauge from Importevolution for around $230 shipped though

My freind told me that he saw a couple times when people bought the ebay fpr, and they were made out of epoxy. The gas eats away at the epoxy and guess what. You get a pretty big fuel leak in the engine bay.

I went with a AEM UFPR unit. Works great and its also a 1:1 Ratio unit that makes it perfect for boosted cars.

I went with a FullThrottleandSpeed one, its very nice and fits well. Works flawlessly. Best of all, no fittings etc.

Also, Kirban makes an excellent quality billet piece, rebuildable, adjustable etc. Very nice. I liked using that, but I really wanted less clutter so I sold it and got my present one.

The Kirban one is a very nice, reasonably priced ($105) alternative.
