just wondering. i went from tokico illuminas to tein coilovers. does that affect my alignment? sorry for the noob question.

If you are changing your ride height than it most likely will affect your alignment. But I'd get it checked anyways just to be safe. Find a shop that does free alignment checks. I work for Tire Kingdom and our sister company, Big O Tires, has locations in your area. We do free alignment checks so give them a call to see if they do too.

ok thanks. good idea on the free alignment. i had rre align my car last time. horrible. the safe to range for the front tires is -0.12 - 0.12 and mine were at 0.30 and 0.33. destroyed my front tires. anyway. thanks for all the info.:thumb:

The only thing with that range is the front toe, which can be adjusted to 0.00. The only thing you can't adjust on 2Gs in the camber and caster (without using washers and/or adjustable camber kits), but you can adjust the toe. Having the toe out of spec will eat your tires very fast.

FYI - Kevin did my alignment and all my toes are within specs right in the middle where I want them to be. Thanks Kevin! :thumb:

No problem Hiitman, good luck with it.

You're welcome Dee...glad I could help out a fellow DSM'er :dsm:

Not being a jerk in anyway, but I would doubt RRE would have set your toe to those specs. How do you know they were set at that? I mean did they give you a sheet showing you the specs they put it to. Or did another shop show you after a given amount of time.

I mean just keep in mind that your alignment will constantly change. (hitting curbs, springs settling/sagging, potholes, every day driving, etc)

rre didnt give me a sheet because they dont have a computerised alignment machine. they use a combination of lasers and levels that comes in a kit. the sheet i got was from an actual alignment company a couple weeks later when i noticed my front two tires were bald on the inside. eddie had josh sitting in the car holding the steering wheel while he adjusted the toe.
