Changing 1g alternator

Does the alternator come out from the bottom or top??I have an external waste gate that looks like it's in the way, and I also have a forward facing filter housing that looks like its In The way. Is it worth to relocate, i do not have ac anyways?? Also working on jack stands.

Alternator will come out the top. I have an external wastegate off the o2 housing on my car too and it has to be removed to get the alternator out of mine. Get the ps pump and the wastegate out of the way and it should come right out, although it could be slightly different with the manifold you show in your avatar. Mine is a stock 2g manifold.
