Hey, so a couple of months ago my boost guage started reading 8-9psi and i could feel there was some loss in power, plus stalled sometimes when starting the car so figured boost leak and bought the boost leak tester stuff just waiting to do the test, anyways like a couple of days ago the guage starting reading 11psi again. I asked my dad about it-he's a mechanic- and he said that it's just with the barometric pressure from the winter...can the baremetric changes have a change in the way your engine/turbo performs? Or what is going on? Thanks! :thumb:

Well, my experience with these cars tells me they dont like temperature changes too much, at least mine doesnt, my idle fluctuates, when I start it on a real cold morning, the idle will jump to 2k, and my CEL will come on untill the car warms up, its wierd, but Ive never experienced boost fluctuations, but it could be possible, since the boost went back to its normal psi, but do a boost leak test anyway.

yea i will when i have the time, tomorrow me and my dad are gonna do the lifters, but that's it b/c theres suppose to be a big snow storm coming by the afternoon. Also i know this is off topic but a quick question about my starter. When i start it sometimes it makes this like wierd noise, it's hard to explain. Could this be just due to dust being built up in the starter and i could just clean it out? Thanks!
