well my cel came on today so i went to autozone to check it out...the reading the guy got was "p1400"...he looked it up in the computer and said it was a problem with the egr..ive been running rich so im guessing it was the correct problem. i was told that it deals with how much fumes come out the exhaust and there was probablly a carbon build up or something. he said the part was $90 but im not sure what the actual part is...does anyone know what part this would be, where it is located, and if it is able to be fixed by me or if i should take it to a mechanic? thanx guys!

Yep, that'd be your Manifold Differential Pressure code. Try taking off your MDP and cleaning out that little hole. Also, it could mean your EGR is blocked (did you block it off? If so, deal with the code or have it cleared...) or clogged. If it's not blocked, try cleaning it.

a P0400 is actually the EGR Flow Restiction code. If you really threw a P1400 there may be a differant problem. If it was a P0400 then it is the restriction of the EGR in soem way. For me, the solenoid wasnt opening the EGR valve making it as useless as if it was clogged. Check your code again and here is a list of all the codes.

i went back to autozone to check and make sure they gave me the right diagnosis and it still came up as p1400 and they still said it was an "egr low output..."something along those lines...but you guys say its not the egr but the mdp! who should i believe?!!? LOL...

just take off your egr valve and clean it with carb cleaner. Its located below the throttle body connected to your intake manifold. When clean, its gold. Simply take it off, it has two 10mm bolts that hold it together....heres a pic of it since i have my manifold off already.
