My code scanner said:
1. Catalyst efficiency below threshold (bank 1) and
2. Auxilary emmissions control malfunction.

For the 1st is it the o2 sensor or the catalytic converter? (Cat is hollowed and haven't had an issue in almost a year since doing it.)

For the second would that be the EGR valve or is it something else? How can I diagnose the problem further?

I wanna fix the problem but don't know what the exact problem is.

The CEL light came on at about 2100 rpm while letting of the gas from a rising hill and cruising at 49 MPH according to the freeze frame, the longterm fuel trim was around +3.0 and the shortterm fuel trim was -1.6...

Allso if I stomp the gas to accelarate it goes way lean according to the flashy A/F guage. I KNOW I NEED A WIDEBAND But i wanna fix this before shelling another $350 bucks on something else. It stills pulls decently enough for a AT but could be better... If the helps at all....

Thanks for the help , Mike

Hey, sorry to bring back an old thread but I've got the same codes, a P1400 and a P0420. Were you able to figure out what the problem was? I'm thinking my egr valve or solenoid is bad.

Thanks,

Dave
