catalytic converter exhaust help!

Hey everyone, im very new to this DSM world. I just put a 2.5 inch cat back system on my 1997 eclipse GST and a crome intake from ebay. Car feels much faster. The exhaust is all Megan racing. My question is will a 3inch down pipe fit my Cat??? Also what is a good highflow cat, ebay has some for cheap. Is it good to go 3inch down pipe to 2.5inch catback.

Im not looking to make huge gains, just enough flow for a t28, this is to be my daily driver, and Id liked to hit low 14's at the track, im not expecting it to run like my WS6.
