cat/turbo back exhaust

I am going to buy an exhaust for my 98 eclipse very soon. Looking on the parts catalog here i see cat back exhaust and exhaust SYSTEMS. Are the exhaust systems like a turbo back as in they come with the downpipe, cat and muffler or is it just the cat back? Also some links or suggestions on brands or where to buy them would be helpful.

It would all depend on specifically what you are looking for. Depending what your goals are, you could be looking at a 3" turbo-back if you are looking for future major upgrades, or if you were going to stick with a basically stock set up you might look into a 2.5" turbo-back. There are also a lot of different options as far as if the exhaust comes with a test pipe set up or an option for a high flow cat. You also usually have the choice between stainless steel piping or aluminized piping to save some money. A cat-back refers to all the piping after the catalytic converter to the tailpipe. A good turbo-back exhaust will include an 02 housing, a downpipe, a test pipe/high flow cat, and then the cat-back.

but the exhaust systems on the parts catalog, are they just the cat back atleast the muffler, cat, and downpipe? because there is cat back and then there is exhaust systems and i cant tell if the exhaust system comes with what i said above

Well i have a sugestion.....

I just recently bought a catback system for my 99 gst spyder....wow, that is all i got to say....

now i know some of you might think i'm crazy but i bought it off a company that sells them on ebay and it was the best purchase i ever bought! Better than the apexi n1. This catback was exactly like the apexi n1 but i think even better......i've had the apexi n1 and it was nice but for 530+ bucks....i don't think so....I paid 200 bucks including shipping!

It is a stainless steel 3" from cat back, it comes with all bolts gaskets and adapter....it felt lighter than my apexi from awhile ago too......it is even angled perfectly.

to be honest with all you guys, i thought it was better than the apexi because it even fit better. now all i need is a downpipe and i'm set. I mean for $200 i'm definately not complaining and i'd buy another one in a heart beat and it would still be cheaper than the apexi.....if anyone wants the dealer, i got the website....trust me it was worth the 200 bucks....and not to mention you could go to an exhaust shop for a little bit and get the resanator cut off and still be cheaper! i'm all about not spending a lot of money....and it sounds exactly the same.....

so what i'm saying is that it's well worth it.....i don't even think you can get a custom shop to do it for that price.....pm me for the link if you want, i'll have to find it but i know i still got it.....i think they raised the price a bit and unfortunately they only have them for the FWD turbo cars right now.....no AWD
