Cat-back exhaust question

I'm looking to replace my stock exhaust on my 1G AWD with a Thermal cat-back and looking for a definitive answer.

Car is totally stock, no mods and not planning any. Would installing the Thermal cat-back, which has a 3" pipe, cause any issues such as boost creep or boost spike?

EDIT: I suppose I am retarded. They do make a 1G Thermal Exhaust. Where the hell have I been?

As for your question, yes. You will experience some creep. The exhaust is free-flowing now and your exhaust gas is exiting the car quicker. That will cause your turbo to spool quicker with less energy - resulting in mild creep. If you have the BCS solenoid still in, that might make the effects of the exhaust less. You will notice an instant power gain. Good luck man! Post some pics!

Thanks for the answer. I figured it would creep some.

Did you think they didn't make one for the 1G? I think I remember a few years ago reading about them discontinuing it but I'm not sure. I'm glad they still make it!

Anyway, yes, the boost control solenoid is still there. So do you think I should do anything to address the mild creep or is it ok to run like that?

I might have to replace the cat and downpipe too, with stock parts again, assuming they are still available.
What's the diameter of the downpipe? 2" or 2.5"?

If replace it with a stock downpipe and a high-flow cat, plus the Thermal exhaust, should the boost creep still be mild enough to get away with without additional mods?
