hi there,
i boght a 92 eclipse gst yesterday (7-bolt) the car has no performance and cant accelerate, but the turbo spools up very high!! in the other moment, it pushes me forward with half boost then again no performance and the turbo spools up, the previous owner said, that he has let it check in a garage, they told him that the wires to the CAS are the reason...
i dont know what to do, should i change wire and cas too? which cas can i take, is it from a NT the same? how difficult ist it to change the wires and the plug..?
i really need help :(

sorry, for my bad english... (german) hehe..

waiting for answers :)

Does the car have a dead miss or run poorly other than lacking in power? If the plug or wires to the cas were messed up the car should run like $hit if at all depending on which wires were bad. I would inspect the wires and plug yourself first and look for any knicks or corrosion before just replacing anything.

If the CAS and/or plug is bad then you can use a CAS from any 91-94 4g63 car, doesnt matter turbo or not. The earlier cas' look a bit different and are a little different internally but they should operate the same.

is it possible that, the turbo spools very high if the cas is working wrong?? someone over here says no!
i accelerate, the car is jerking sometimes, and there is no power, it feels like 50hp which "pushes" me forward..LOL.. and the turbo is spooling loudly (the stock gauge shows me 14psi) OMG

Dude from what it sounds like you have a boost leaks and you hit fuel cuts. I would check for leaks first. I would check for leaks before you blow your turbo. Took me couple of trys to blow up my.

i have removed the plug and hit it with some contact spray, now it runs without jerking or shit  but has not the same power in launches that my 1990 GST had :thumbdown mayb there are realy some boostleaks

okay, in the morning i started the engine again.. the same shit!
i want to accelerate, the car doesnt moving faster, and the turbo spools up! ...
i dont know what to do..
(i have checked the vin. its a 6-bolt (october 91))

do you think it could be the wastegate?? mayb its all the time closed.. so the turbo spools up all the time, and hits fuel cut..
(it doesnt go forward especially between 2000 and 3000 rpm.., jerking.. the full program)

Dude do you get any boost? Make shure you spark plugs are hooked up in the corect order if i am not mistaking its 4,1,2,3. If you can hear the turbo spool up and your not getting boost your leaking somwhere. I would get that checked out.

no but im going to do this..
i am going to replace the cas, adjusting it to the middle, and change the plug and ~4inch of wires

looks like the car runs rich, i drive smoothly, but the man/turbohousing is glowing red

ive replaced tha cas with an other one, and checked the wires to it.
the car is running like shit.. no way of going better.
somtimes the turbo spools up with the rpm, but the car is very slow.. it accelerates like 120HP or less..
what could it also be??? pls help :(

Sounds like the Intercooler pipe is blown off or a huge boost leak!
As far as the plug wires the firing order is 1342.
