Its official! The Spring meet has been planed by a combination of ideas of Myself, Alan, Kevin, Doug, and Sam all putting in some input on everything. We have booked (by the end of this week) a 60 person shelter at Umstead State Park, to cookout and hang out for lunch. We have a whole day planned out, so there will be none of this where are we going, what are we doing thing, we took time this time to do it all! Kevin and myself fronted the 60 dollar fee to rent the place, and we will probably also be purchasing the food to be cooked and will ask for about 5 dollars per person for eating, so we need to have a pretty solid number of people coming.
This is a state park with children, and families walking around. So if any of us see you guys driving like dumbasses into the place, or acting like a bunch of morons we will personally kick you out of place. We do not want this to look bad on us as a group, as we have come to Umstead for a number of years now. SO NO DRIVING LIKE A DUMBASS.
Umstead State Park entrance is located off the Harrison Avenue exit in Cary. You go. From Durham you turn Left off the highway and continue to go straight and you will see us. If you are coming from Cary you turn right and continue to go straight. it is exit 287 off I40.
We will be going Rush Hour Go-Carting later in the day. Rush hour is located off highway 70 (exit 306 in garner). They are big kid go carts that are plenty fast and a blast. Its is an all indoor place and costs 22 bucks per person for about 10 mins of driving (well worth it). We are working on a group rate to bring down the cost a little bit.
MARCH 10th 2007 SATURDAY
Here is the agenda for what is going on. Kevin, myself, and a few others will be there at 10am to make sure everybody can find it.
10-11am -> Arrive at Umstead Park
12PM -> Cookout lunch and hang out and shoot the shit
2PM -> Head out in a hopefully organized group to go carting
6PM -> For those that want to do dinner we will probably go to a wing spot (like hooters or the ale house, or something similar depending on how many people want to go)
