Niagara,
I just installed my new carbon fibre tail lights on my talon. I did the 97-99 eclipse body conversion so they are aftermarket eclipse lights. I hooked up the lights and everything, and the turn signals from the talon lights were different from the plugs in the new eclipse lights, so I swapped out the wires so the lights worked properly. NOW THE PROBLEM...
Since I swapped the tail lights, my gauge lights come on when I tap the break, and my cruise control doesnt work. I dont know what the problem could be. Tommorw when theres some day light, I'm going to swap the wires back to how they were, but thats going to take me back to square one. The one break light will end up being where the trun signal is...I have no idea what to do, I swapped out the wires and the tail lights work the way they should, but now I have other problems inside the car. If anyone has any ideas, suggestions, or has ran into similar problems, please tell me what you have done to correct them. Thanks in advance.

looks like the best solution is to go back to good old stock lights

At this point, I would love to do that, unfortunitely the stock Talon lights dont work with the 97-99 Eclipse rear bumper. I'm looking for stock eclipse lights, but am worried that I will have the same problem.

If you have done an eclipse tail light conversion on your talon, please speak up. Is the tail light harness different ?

It wouldn't matter if you put the stock eclipse lights in there or not, because the problem is not with the appearance, but with the wiring. Do you have a Haynes manual were you could look at the wiring diagrams? Chances are something got crossed when you rewired everything.

I had a simlar problem when the two filaments of my taillight bulb somehow touched and welded themselves together, so its definitely either a bad bulb, or a wiring problem. Probably a short between a brake light wire and a driving (taillight) wire, or the bulb itself like what happened to me.
