Today morning when I tried to start the car, the car won't crank but you can hear the starter click. But now I try to crank it the starter won't even click, and the fans are not turning at all (in key on position). I tried jump starting it, same thing. Now I'm not sure if it's the starter or not, because I got this car used, and the car had a Page Alert 4000T alarm system on it. I can't find any info on that system, and I bought the car from a private owner, I can't even find him now. So if anyone have any info on that system please link me, or if you have any idea of what's wrong with my car please help, thanks.

This is for a 1G Talon TSi AWD. :talon:

Regardless of your alarm system, I would check/charge/and or replace the battery. That's a staring point.

Do you have headlights? bright?

The clicking your heard is probably the starter solenoid. It will do this as long as there's enough voltage to activate it, but that doesn't mean there's enough voltage to turn the starter and flywheel. If the battery is further down on voltage now it won't click any longer. :laser:

my friend had a similar problem turnedo ut to be that his ecu fried from the caps leaking

The headlight is avergely bright. I already tried jump starting the car, but it's the same thing. Now that I look closer to the problem when I turn the key to ACC position, the warning lights didn't light up, so I'm afraid it might be the ECU. How do I check if it's the ECU problem. Also do you think it' cause by the Page Alert 4000T alarm? Anyone have this alarm before? Please help. Thanks.

does it smell rotten down by the ecu? Its not very hard to take out the ecu. Physically take it out, open it up, and look at it. If there is something obviously wrong(caps leaking, pcb all burned up), you know its your ecu. I believe there is more info on vfaq.

It could be a lot of different things, you have to start checking somewhere. Check your battery. If it's wacked your ECU can screw up just from the low voltage. Take it somewhere and have someone check it out. If it's not the battery then you've ruled that out, then follow up with the other things.

Check your battery 1st. :laser:

I swapped the battery from my mom's Taurus, still the same problem. I will check the ECU later tomorrow. Any other suggestions welcome. Thanks for the replies. :thumb:

You know it could still be your starter, before my starter went out it use to click, the only way I found out that it was the starter was hitting it. Get a long stick that can reach the starter and hit the other end with a hammer then go try turning it on if it starts its your starter. Just a trick that I use to check if its the starter.

Finally fixed it. It turns out it's one of the fuse burned out, and one of the wires to the fuel pump burned out. I replaced the fuse and solderd the wire back, the car runs great now. :D

It's not just the fuse tho, I replaced the fuse the engine would crank but not start. So I checked for spark, it has spark and I hear the injectors click, so I check the power to the fuel pump, it has power. When I open the "lid" on the pump, I saw a wire burned out, so I just cut the original wire and soldered on a new wire. Thanks for the help tho.

Thanks. I see you're in NV too, are you in Vegas? Do you know any place that specialize in DSMs? Any place have awd dynos?

They do don't they? I remember last year there's a RRE 2G Eclipse in SCC's USCC. IIRC it's tuned by RRE, so I think they would have a awd dyno.
