After changing my oil in my 95 GSX i started my car up to check for leaks. While it was running all at once it just cut off and wouldnt start. I noticed that the fuel pump isnt cutting on. Me and my buddy checked for power to the fuel pump connector and had nothing. So then we check the MFI relay and there was power at that on like two pins with key off and one pin with key on. We also checked to make sure the relay was working properly and it was. We also checked for spark on just number one, havent checked any other cylinders. We have no spark and no fuel. Any ideas or suggestions? Couldnt it be like the cas or any sensor like that, or maybe the computer? And if so why would it just stop while sitting there and then nothing? Please help me as i really need to get my car running right away.

you can email answer or post on this thread. my buddys email addy is [email protected], i dont get on the net much so he can check for me. Thanks.

if you look to the right of the battery on the firewall there are 2 test connectors. I am not 100% which color is the fuel pump. but supply 12v to one of them and the fuel pump should kick on. IF not you probably have a problem with the pump itself.

hey, i have the same problem and i did that fuel pump test and it works i also checked the igntion relay it checks out too what else could it be.

define "bump" were schematics not useful? did you find anything else out? my car's fuel pump still does not want to turn on from the key and i replaced the MPI relay so i'm thinking its the ECU.

bump= send post back to the top so everone can see it. Dont really know how to read schematics, hoping its not the ecu. Havent figured anything else yet though, if you figure it out make sure to let everyone know, Ill do the same.

so i did some testing and replacement of the MPI relay and its definatly not the problem. its not the fuel pump, not the relay, so i'm thinking its something to do with either the starter source wire going to the relay or a ground signal from the ECU is not getting to the relay its the ONLY thing left. i'll do some testing either tonight or tomorrow and i'll let you know what i find.

Is your car still turning over? Are you sure there is no noise coming from the fuel pump? Quick test - pop the gas lid, remove the gas cap, get your buddy to turn the car to the ON po sition while you keep your ear right up to where the gas cap goes and see if you can hear any wizzing. If you do, the fuel pump has power.

hey, yeah i did that test still don't hear anything on cranking. but i did some tests with the MPI relay, and it is getting power on cranking, and the relay works just fine. but i figured something else out. i bought a noid light set to test if there is signal getting to the injectors. i tested all of my injectors and there is no flashing light out of any of them. i think the problem lies within the ECU as its the only thing that has direct control over the injectors. any thoughts? does anybody know of any sensor that would prevent the ECU from firing the injectors? any help would be desparatly appreciated.
