Car won't start, could this be the ignition switch?

im not getting any power goint to the relay. does this mean it needs to be replaced?

yeah i turned the key when i tested it, but when i put the multimeter on it, it didnt zero out.

you should take the ignition cover off and check to see if you have power up to the ignition switch. if you dont have power to the relay than one of your fuses is out most likely the main engine fuse under the hood, or your ignition is no good or broken and causing the power not to get to the relay that is the only things i can think of.

did you test the relay with the black/red wires? And if so was there power on the red/black wire i believe there is two they are both connected in the harness and there should be 12v present

i read on another post the vss (vehicle speed sensor) went out and cut the power to the crank and cam sensors. Unplug it and try to fire it up if it starts than your vss is out

but his wont turn over at all, mine would turn over but no start, but hey when it comes to this stuff try anything.LOL

I had a similar problem with my '97 GS.
The car functioned perfectly but the problem was that it wouldn't start.
I was able to start the car by pushing it (it's a manual) among other ways.
I replaced the old battery with a new one but that still didn't help.
It turned out to be a broken ignition switch so you might want to check that out since you've already replaced the starter.

did the op ever figure his issue out?

also to the previous post, it sounds like one of your fuses or relays must have had a loose connection, and you remenied the issue whne putting them back in.

have you tried to jump your starter yet that will tell you alot if it dont start when you do that your not geting power to the starter . is the issue all the time or intermittent ?
