car won't start - any ideas?

Hey, I am having a problem with my car. I dropped in a new engine into it with the help of my friend. Everything is wired up, all the hoses are on. I changed the injectors, the guy I bought the car from said the ECU was fine, but my car isn't starting up. It turns over fine and it sounds real strong, I have spark, and I have fuel, but it still won't kick over. Does anyone have any ideas?

Crank angle sensor? Cam angle sensor? Are your injectors firing? Do you have fuel? Is there fuel to the injectors?

Spark plug wires on proper cylinders? Spark timing incorrect? Timing belt broken or on wrong notch? Non-turbo ECU on a turbo engine (vice-versa)? Fuel actually getting into cylinders (pull plugs and see if wet or dry)?

Where is the crank angle and cam angle sensor in my 1g? how do i check them to see if they're good?

Before you get into the angle sensors (which rarely fail unless the connector isn't making contact), make sure you REALLY ARE getting enough spark and fuel where it counts. Pull each plug, hold against the engine with the wire on, crank over and make sure the spark is adequate. Make sure fuel is making it into the cylinders. Do you smell gas? Are the spark plugs wet (or get wet when their wire is disconnected)? Check fuel pressure if you have a gauge (should be between 33 and 50 psi depending on engine).

Does the engine fire at all?

If your convinced about the spark and fuel, I would next check the spark timing with a timing light. If the sensors are bad or the shafts aren't lined up correctly, the timing will be way off.

Next test the compressions of the cylinders.
