ok, well i installed a remote ignition today. i still utilize my key to turn on the the injectors to start my car. today i changed my battery and for some reason my car will stay on even with the key out...?what could it be?

Are you sure you got the wiring correct? I used to install stereos at a local shop that also did in car entertainment, security systems, auto start and the like. The #1 problem is generally ignition wiring. The idea with auto start is to fool the car into thinking it has the key in the ignition, allowing start up. On the reverse side, when you remove the key it still thinks its in place. Double check you wiring diagrams and your work, and im almost positive you'll find a flaw. If you tell me the exact system, i can get some diagrams for you.

Also check all of your fuses. Might not be the problem but when I was doing my turbo swap I bumped the alternator and it blew a fuse and my car was going all sorts of crazy...lights on, interior lights flashing. Just a thought..good luck:thumb:

You didn't get one of the systems designed for a 5-speed did you? A friend of mine has one installed, that requires you to exit, and lock, the car while it's still running. Then the remote start turns off the car. That way the system knows the car is in neutral with the parking brake applied and allows you to remote start later.

YEah I have a remote start like that. I have to put it in neutral, foot off the brake and hand brake up the leave the car and as soon as you close the door the car shuts off. Just a way of knowing the car is in neutral. Any time you step on the brake while you turn the key off the motor shuts off normally. What system do you have?
