Car starts idles for a second then dies ---No fuel pressure after start

I was driving to work one day in my stock gsx and all of a sudden it died. I wasn't boosting or anything. Now the car is starting up fine hits the regular idle for about half a second to a second and the car just dies.

I think the ecu is fine since when I put the ignition to the on position the check engine light comes on for about 5 seconds and the boost gauge goes to zero.

The MAF sensor is hooked up. What would cause this?

Check your ECU. My bro picked me up from school in his 96 Talon. It to just died at a light on the wy home. He had the Ecu Repaired.His caps melted it didn't produce a smell But the Talon acted the same as yours.

I would take out your ECU and open it up to check the caps and such. My laser was doing that and after the MOTOGUYS ecu install it stopped =)

Sounds like the cam position sensor took a krap

vacuum leak, pcv valve?

Well it had a pretty big vacuum leak but I fixed that and it is still doing the same thing. I thought maybe the fuel pump wasn't staying on. So I started the car and immediatly after I took off the fuel line to the fuel rail and the gas just trickled out. Didn't spray or have any real pressure to it. Does this seem right?

Any idea on what would cause this that I can check? Is it possible that its the fuel pump or fuel pressure regulator?

Right after the car dies if I turn the car to the postion to listen for the pump I hear it. If I turn to off and then back to the on I hear it again but it gets a little igher like its have to build more pressure. I can do this a couple of time before I hear the same high pitch noise like the system is up to pressure. Is this normal? or do you think the fuel pump is going out?
