I've got a 95 talon tsi....when I accelerate hard or anytime after the boost has gone up about 1psi it smokes but the exhaust has a strong fuel smell like unburnt gas....what could be the problem?? its not oil for sure.

Actually if the turbo seals are bad and the oil is dripping into the lower intercooler piping and going into the engine it will cause white/grayish smoke to come out of the exhaust.

I guess I didn't stay up late enough last night to see this. :) Yup, white gray smoke can sometimes be burning oil.

So, first do a boost leak test.

Then do a compression test.

Then check the turbo for shaft play. With the intake pipe off, try to wiggle the compressor wheel up and down, side to side, in and out. Noticeable play in any direction indicates turbo bearing failure. Check the compressor fins for damage. Check the lower intercooler pipe for oil pooling in it and the intercooler.

Report the results of those three things.

the smoke is a lite blue and black color comin from the exhaust. I checked the lower intercooler pipe and there is no oil...also did a boost leak test no..no leaks. The exhaust has gas smell to it like there is unburnt fuel....and the smoke is only there after the turbo has engaged. when it sits an idles or is driven "gently" it does not smoke.

Black smoke and the smell of gas indicates a rich condition. Since you're still on the stock ECU timing and air/fuel maps, the motor will naturally run rich and belch black under boost. As far as your smoke condition while under load/boost, the best thing you can do is a compression test. Smoke on acceleration (in the absence of a failing turbo) is usually a ring seal issue while smoke on deceleration and during idle is usually valve stem seals.

Run a compression test. If your numbers have excessive variance between cylinders or are below the service limit, it indicates oil blowby and leakdown. Report what the compression test numbers are so we can help you with the next step.

Let us know what you find,

Andy

any CEL? If so, get the codes pulled. If you are smelling raw fuel, could be a misfire (or non-fire of a cylinder)
