hi, my car sat for about 8 months with about half a tank of gas. I replaced the crappy bosch plugs with NGKS, replaced the bad ISC motor with new one and it doesn't idle surge no more. Question is the car runs extremely slugglish, could it be the gas being so old that it lost it's octane rating and the ecu is retarding the timing so much that it's sluggish? also when I first start it up the idle doesn't start high and then settle down like before it just sits at steady 2k rpms. Would the ISC motor be causing this? Is it possible I installed it 180 degrees wrong? matching the bolts up but flipped around? or does that matter? I know it's usually coolant sensors which dictates when the idle should start steadying. Also the motor kinda shakes a lot more than before but can account that to the old gas?
btw: i replaced the spark plug and valve cover seals, pcv valve and oil cap and now no blue smoke or oil in spark plug galley which I thought my rings were going. At least something good at of this.
Also can I just add fuel treatment to the gas already there? reason is car is location where draining gas tank is not a option.
need answers asap.
thanks
