car lost power and studders during boost

bought a 95 talon tsi last sunday. the car has a 16g turbo, front mount int., bigger injectors and fuel rail, running 20 pounds. The car ran great until yesterday, i was checking some things under the hood and cleaned my battery terminals, then i took the car out and everytime i ease in to it and the turbo kicks in the car shudders and barely goes, when im not in to boost the cars runs normal. i think maybe my intercooler piping came loose or a vacuum line but i havent found anything yet. any suggestions.

Run a boost leak test and post back. What else was done under the hood? Any other info would help out too.

Are you fuel cutting?
at idle does your car surge?

The first thing I would do is do a complete check on every intercooler pipe connector. Then get some carb cleaner and spray it around every connector. If the car doesn't increase in RPM when you spray everything down you could do a leak check with a cap/fitting and air compressor.

I had a similar problem when my fuel pump bracket broke and the pump was pushing away (unseating) and causing fuel cut. If the car is appearing to run fine until you hit boost then it could be something to do with a leak, or fuel problem.

I used to have that problem. Was plugs/wires. Swap them out and see if it changes anything. I'd go with 7s if you are pushing 18-19 psi boost. 6s if under that.

no boost leaks, checked all of the connections, cant find a thing, im worried since my car was unpluged for so long i lost my tuning and it is running to rish when into boost. my car was tuned to idle at roughly 1300 rpm but since then it idles around 900 rpm. and when i looked at my apexi avc-r i got with it in the dash all of the settings in it were gone, im cant be for sure if it is my tuning or not until I get my dsm link connected to the car but i cant get the drivers to install for the usb connection. I need help getting my dsmlink working!!

Update: It wasnt the drivers for the ecm link that wasnt making it work it was the driver for my converting cable from serial to usb. My car car has version 2.5 on it so it lost the tune when my car was unplugged

I am having the same problem with my 97 talon i literally just got it its a heap. some girl had it and abused it. it had been over heating because of a coolant leak from behind the water pump. i fixed that and did the timing belts and ac and wp to ps since i had it apart. i then went to test drive it and now i have oil dripping out from behind the passenger side of my bumper cover and the car shutters once i get over 3/4 on my stock boost gauge i have no idea what i am doing this is my first turbo and my first dsm....
