I have a 97 manual awd.The car started locking up in reverse at first and now it locks up in all gears. There is oil leaking from the transfer case, but im not so sure that is problem. Can anyone help me to find out if it is one of the diffs?

Pretty Sure that it is the Transfer Case....Sounds about right
You have a Mitsu Dealer anywhere local to you?
If you do you can get the transfer case fixed for free if its leaking(there is a life time Warranty on them)
Also if its bad enough they may Replace it completely which if its locking up is probably the case Just DO Not let them tell you NO ...there is a recall on all our T-cases

I've had the recall done before...11 years ago.

I wish that was the case but I believe you have to have it on the car,If anyone out there has done this let me know I've got whats let of one I'd like to be replaced ...

I don't believe it matters if it done before, Because the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Is who made the issue for the recall and that it involves the car being able to lock up on the freeway and potentially kill someone...That why its a Lifetime Recall...

I'm getting the transfer case fixed.I called Chrysler and they finally said it was a lifetime recall.Even though I had to call several times and it was a big hassle,I finally talked to the right person.
