Well boys im back with another problem:cry::cry:

I just replaced my plugs and put in new ones gapped at .26 and all the sudden my car is misfiring and feels like im running lean but when i pulled the plugs it showed that im running rich.:ohdamn: Im so confused at this point. I would appreciate your help:pray::pray:

Check the connections on the coil. If its something thats intermitent it could be the coils or the Power Transistor. If they are going bad you can get the random multiple misfire code. Is it throwing any CELs?

My nissan coil packs like to go bad ALL the time. Try swapping with somebody that has good ones and see if that helps. Also, running too rich could cause it to miss. Maybe find out why it's running so rich.

Yeah its throwing the Open loop failure due to coolant temp to low (which i have no clue what that means), Fuel trim malfunction (again no clue), and the last is OEM

Coolant temp sensor is registering probably -40 to the computer. That will make the engine run pig rich. Either the sensor is bad, or something in the connection to it.
If the pcm does not see a temp of around 180, it won't go into closed loop. That's the point when the computer takes over.

So that might even stop the engine from misfiring like it is then? ill be replacing my spark plug wiring too

Will that stop it from misfiring? LOL im tired of it. It feels like a 20 hp go-kart

If you dont have acces to a logger to check the coolant temp sensor try checking the thermostat first. If its stuck open then this can cause the CEL from the coolant temp sensor too low that in turn will cause one to run pig rich thus fouling plugs and giving you the misfire code. It could all be over a 20 thermostat. Or like the wiseman said it might be the coolant temp sensor. If it reads -40 its no bueno but unless you have the ability to log or read datastream theres no way to tell.

You might check the sensor with and ohm meter

Im thinking the gap is a type-o .25 is 1/4in .025 is twenty five thousands. Theres quite a bit of difference LOL

Oh wow i just noticed that i said .26 instead if .026. Sorry about that

And also i should add that my thermostat hasnt been working for about 2 weeks if that changes anything

OK, so maybe I'm dense, but if you know your thermostat isn't working, what's the delay replacing it? The purpose of the thermostat is to help keep the engine running at a somewhat optimal temperature. If the thermostat is stuck open, then it's difficult for the engine to heat up to normal operating temperature. If stuck close, the engine is almost certainly going to overheat resulting in a likely warped head deck and various associated misbehaviors (head gasket leaks for instance). If stuck somewhere in between, then the resulting problems may or may not also be somewhere in between.

I.E. -- change your thermostat ASAP!

Well boys it turns out that it was my effin head gasket. Im pretty pissed

As much as I recommend fixing things ASAP I'm guilty of running a stuck thermostat for about....6 months before I got around to changing it. Reason being is lack of time. I'm sure the OP has his own problems.
