I drove my car to work tonight and everything was fine. When I went to leave my battery was dead, although the lights or anything else wasn't left on. I jumped the car and let it idle for a few minutes and everything seemed great. Then when I went to drive home, and the check engine light came on almost immediately and the abs light kept flashing on and off. The car was making a ticking sound come from the rear of the car.WTF I can only assume it was coming from the fuel pump? because I don't know anything else that is back there. I limped it home. The whole time is was real jerky, and not at any certain rpm. I just seemed like every few seconds the car would buck. It drove the same under a partial load and under a full load, well not full but I did give it more gas to see if it cleared out. Once I got home I popped the hood and a relay was ticking steadily. According to the cover is was for the fog lights, or at least it says FOG.
I don't know how it broke while it was just sitting in a parking lot. What could have drained my battery?

*Also, it is not the car in my profile. It is my 1g, '93 gsx, basically stock.*
 
Is your alternator dying? See what your battery voltage is while the car is running, It should fall in the range of 13.4-14.5 usually If not I would suspect the alternator. I know a dying ALT. will cause lights to pop up and the relays to go nuts.
 
Thanks, I'll check in the morning. Also, I forgot to add that the windshield wipers were coming on and off too.
 
its going to be the alternator, because if it was the battery then you would have just had a problem getting it started then once it was started the alt would take over enough to power all of your relays and what not plus charge the battery. do you have a system in the back? if so, now would be a great time to put in a high output alternator......
